Deconstructed Flagship Stores

The "Non-Design" of This Headphone Store Highlights Its Products

The 'AIAIAI' flagship store was designed with a "non-design" approach that strips the concept of a store down to its basics.

AIAIAI is a brand that sells headphones that are quite standard and also ones that are more unique. Rather than create a flagship store for the brand that is flashy and over-the-top, designer Borg Brückner decided to take the less common non-design approach. The store has neutral colors -- namely white, black and gray and features little more than the company's products. AIAIAI's headphones rest on hooks along a white perforated wall, while the other side of the small store displays records and a record player for customers to test.

The unusual approach that was taken in the design of this flagship store puts the focus back on audio and the company's products without unnecessary excess.
