Created by Raphaël Pluvinage and Marianne Cauvard, the Noisy Jelly video is based on a game where people cook up their own musical instruments. The jelly that’s created is made with special coloring and mixtures that activate sounds once it’s placed onto a game board, which has capacitive sensors.
The video shows step by step instructions to create your own musical jelly. After creating your gel moulds, place them on the game board and touch away. The sounds it makes depends on the jelly; its size and shape, salt concentration and the amount of pressure applied on it are all factors that affect the audio. Finger contact on the jelly will be detected and transmitted into audio signals.
Pluvinage is a french designer who works in the field of interaction and object design, focusing on the aesthetic and social potentials of technology.
