Noctua's NM-DD1 Improves CPU Thermals for AM5 Processors

The NM-DD1 is a mounting spacer kit that enables users to install various Noctua CPU coolers on delidded AMD AM5 processors. Delidding is the process of removing the processor’s integrated heat spreader (IHS) and applying liquid metal thermal compound directly onto the dies, which can significantly improve thermal transfer and lower CPU temperatures by as much as 10-15°C. The NM-DD1 contains spacers and screws that make up for the height of the removed IHS and allow for a secure and easy installation of the cooler.

The NM-DD1 is available exclusively via Noctua’s website for a service charge of EUR 4.90. Customers can also 3D-print the spacers at home using the STL files shared at Printables.com. The NM-DD1 is compatible with most Noctua CPU coolers since 2005, including some of the most popular models, such as the NH-D15 (S). A full compatibility list can be viewed on Noctua's website. The NM-DD1 can also be combined with Noctua’s new offset AM5 mounting bars for further performance gains.
