The New Nike and NBA's Jerseys Will Be Made of Recycled Water Bottles

Nike has unveiled designs for the Golden State Warriors' jerseys, the first release under the Nike and NBA partnership.

The eight-year contract was signed in 2015 and set to start during the 2017-2018 season. Staying true to Nike's commitment to environmental responsibility, the new jersey's will use polyester and recycled water bottles reclaimed from the ocean. The sports brand company estimated that about 20 water bottles go into each uniform. Nike reports that the material used to comprise each jersey is designed to improve performance by absorbing sweat quicker, while providing more comfort and flexibility due to the altered hems, which improve fit.

The release of the new jerseys coincide with changes to the NBA regulations which eliminates the traditional "home" and "road" uniform designations, creating new branding opportunities.
