Combining pictures of New York City and London, the photography by Daniella Zalcman produces an almost surreal effect. Double exposure is used to merge striking pictures of the two cities.
For this project, an iPhone was used to both take and edit the pictures. An iPhone was chosen instead of a traditional camera because of its spontaneous feel and unorthodox photo editing tools. The spontaneity of the collection was further augmented by Zalcman taking the pictures during her everyday routine.
The inspiration behind Zalcman's photography came from her desire to integrate memories of her new and old home. Landmarks like Leicester Square and Brooklyn Bridge Park were merged to create an unique mix of architecture and skylines.
The photography is currently available in Zalcman's limited edition book 'New York + London'.
