Designer Samuel Murkofsky draws inspiration from the amalgam that is the New York fashion culture and his ManhattanKnights 2018 collection is an ode to adolescence. Channeling the turn of the millennium, the designer employs abundant and clever reference to brands and style-dominating details. From the upside down Nike Swoosh with the slogan 'Just don't' and the popped-up polo collar that carries the message 'fuck outta here' in a Gothic font, the ManhattanKnights contemporary collection takes solidified designs and recreates them within the less traditional context of "the 'now' generation."
In addition, the spirit of New York fashion culture is preserved through some provocative leather, sheer and transparent latex fabrics that are evidently a reference to the progressive attitude of the meat packing district in NYC.
