The packaging of this nested Easter egg was born in part out of practicality and partly out of a familiar aesthetic theme. What we have here is a generously large mint chocolate egg that's sold as a stand-alone treat for a favorite springtime holiday. The sweet edible has been made to an occasion-relevant and recognizable form, but it put forward the problem of how to pack, protect and present something rounded.
James Lewis hoped to show off the beautiful shape and pattern of this dessert, opting for a see-through plastic box. But in order to keep the egg upright and safe from cracking, padding was required. A simple and naturally appropriate solution was exercised in making this a nested Easter egg. Strands of shredded kraft paper create a twig-like bed for the scrumptious item.
