NeighborGoods is a peer-to-peer stuff-sharing network. We all have stuff we don’t use very often and we all need stuff for a use or two, but really don’t need to own it: That’s the idea behind NeighborGoods.
The site, which made its October 2009 debut in Los Angeles, lists stuff by category, keyword, or Zip code. Typing in several Zip codes reveals sharers around the U.S.. Users can start by sharing with friends and share with strangers as the comfort level grows.
The system encourages use of the stuff we already own. It’s good for the planet because we aren’t buying stuff needlessly.
