Marc Fish has come out with a stunning new piece of modern furniture in the form of his Nautilus II Table. This first-class piece of craftsmanship is going to lead the ways in which modern home decor is perceived.
The Nautilus II was made in such a manner that the process of making it almost deserves as much attention as the table itself. Marc used a layering process of over 4,000 individual pieces of sycamore and walnut veneer to create this unrivalled spiral design. Clearly this table is inspired by the common sea shell, and even has the outer texture of a shell that has been delicately hand carved. The inner part of the table is smooth and reminiscent to Japanese lace paper.
With its clear glass table top, the table's inner workings are visible, adding aesthetic value. It has the added bonus of the capability to store books and magazines inside of its shell.
