Italian sneaker company Diadora collaborated with Span's LimitEDitions for its 'N.9000' model. The co-branded model had a very specific inspiration behind it, castells -- human towers the raise to incredible heights at festivals. A small embroidered cartoon version of the Spanish tradition is drawn on the back heal of the shoe. The rest of the N.9000 mimics the clothes worn by these performers.
The shoe features the teal of their shirts, the black of their sashes and the red polka-dotted fabric that represents their bandanas. The left shoe features a Diadora logo in teal, to match the front toecap of the sneaker. Although sneaker collaborations are nothing new, the N.9000 shows how old rituals and traditions can be incorporated into the modern world through art and design.
