As far as musical installations go, they don't come by more interactive than this absolutely enormous oversized guitar, which was one of the star attractions of the Boulevardia music festival over in Kansas City.
Standing 12 feet tall and weighing in at 500 pounds, this musical installation isn't just a guitar in appearance, but is actually a fully playable, scaled-up guitar – although its incredible size makes it difficult to play anything that sounds musically pleasing. The instrument was constructed using special CNC machines and laminated body and neck attachments, with the plucking of strings resulting in sound by virtue of a Raspberry Pi processing unit.
Designed by Kansas-based Dimensional Innovations, this gigantic guitar installation is an example of interactive festival architecture at its best.
