MultipliCITY by Fuseproject, a San Francisco-based design studio founded by Yves Béhar, is an outdoor public furniture collection that addresses the dichotomy between custom designed and mass produced objects. While many people are drawn to the former, that often results in pricey products that are out of their range and yet the latter does not allot for individuality and, sometimes, quality. MultipliCITY by Fuseproject provides a solution that is both sustainable, affordable and flexible.
Created in collaboration with furniture maker Landscape Forms, MultipliCITY by Fuseproject is made up of mass-produced joints and bases that can then be used with locally sourced materials to form the seats and tabletops. Made up of bike racks and benches, the pieces can further be configured in variety of layouts to better suit different urban needs.
