MUJI has grown by leaps and bounds over the past several years, and now the brand aims to expand even further with the announcement of the new Ginza MUJI Hotel. Set to open in spring 2018, the hotel is set to be housed in a new building that is being jointly developed by Mitsui Fudosan and Yomiuri Shimbun. The hotel will feature six floors dedicated to retail space with the remaining three levels open for guests to book for an overnight stay.
As one might assume, each of the rooms in the Ginza MUJI Hotel will be outfitted with products that are manufactured and for sale by the brand. The new hotel will be the brand's second hotel when it opens with the first being the MUJI HOTEL SHENZHEN in the Shenzhen province in China, which will open at the end of 2017.
