While the ready-to-wear collections flaunted bright and bold colors, white is hands down the color of couture this spring. We’ve seen it take center stage in the Chanel Haute Couture collection, and it is the focal point of the Givenchy Spring 2009 Haute Couture collection as well.

But while it was rather optimistic and floral in Chanel, Givenchy presented a morbidly sensual vision of veiled priestesses (or is it corpse brides?) walking on a runway of rose petals in Mummy-wrapped shoes
