Montblanc has unveiled its newest timepiece to be the ‘1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen LE 1786,’ an updated version of the ‘1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen’ with a new bronze case and blue glacier pattern. The new watch is oxygen-free, filled with an inert gas that was first pioneered by Montblanc in March 2022. The gas was designed to reference legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner, the first man to climb the world’s 14 highest peaks and also the first to climb Mount Everest without oxygen.
The ‘1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen LE 1786’ 42mm bronze watch is limited to 1,786 pieces, commemorating the date of Jacques Balmat's first ascent of the Mont Blanc on August 8th, 1786, and boasts a dial inspired by glacial ice which is achieved using the "gratté boisé" process.
The new ‘1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen LE 1786’ is available now via Montblanc at a price point of $6,800 USD.
