Surreal Puddling Photography

In Jettison Molly Strohl Shoots Halloween-Appropriate Images

Stressed out people who are at their breaking point often describe themselves as 'falling apart' -- a concept Molly Strohl was clearly intrigued by. In her surreal photography series Jettison, the photographer captures anguished people melting into puddles.

Defined as "a voluntary sacrifice of cargo to lighten a ship's load in time of distress" on her website, Jettison is visually reflected not just in the horrific melting of the subjects, but in their facial expressions and body language. The haunting images portray different body parts melting, such as eyes, faces and fingers. She also used a cat and a black coat to demonstrate this artistic and emotional concept.

Based out of Savanna, Georgia, 21 year old Molly Strohl previously shot a series portraying how humans are made of star dust.
