Modern Stone Flint Stones Bring Old Technology into Modern Tools

At the 2012 Budapest Design Week, designers Ami Drach and Dov Ganchrow presented the Modern Stone flint stones, a reinvented fusion of ancient tools and modern day technology.

The designers have integrated these essential ancient items into everyday tools such as knives and axes. Stones and flint were vital to life in the old times, as they were used to creating weapons and fire. Without it, there'd be no safety, no warmth and no food. According to design boom, these handles were made "through a method of three-dimensionally scanning and printing," which is why the custom made handles can wrap around the uneven stone so perfectly.
