Mitny Refillery proudly opened its doors at the historic Old CPR Station on Manitoba Street on June 6, establishing itself as Moose Jaw's pioneering refillery store. This unique retail concept offers refillable alternatives for a wide array of everyday products, such as laundry powder, shampoo, and toothpaste, to reduce waste and promote more sustainable living practices.
Despite being in the initial stages of development, Mitny Refillery has quickly built a loyal customer base driven by the demand for staple products like body wash, cleaning supplies, and pet shampoo.
"[...] I’ve always wanted my own store, and the refillery side of it actually came from heading out west and seeing the refilleries there, and seeing Regina and Swift Current’s [refilleries]. I love the idea of being able to just refill your containers and having less waste. And it’s all organic and natural goods, so it’s better for us and better for the environment," said founder Laurie Hysuick.
