Fort Standard has just released its new line of easy-to-assemble minimalist metal furniture. The Strata Collection, which features a coffee table, a side table and a low shelf, was designed as part of Fort Standard's 'Moments of Discovery' exhibition at the New York design store, Colony.
Having celebrated heavier elements like stone and marble in previous collections, The Strata experimented with machining metal to create furniture that is both practical and lightweight. The pieces are made with metal rods that slot together for easy assembly. The tops of the pieces feature smoothed surfaces made with thin milled metal plates.
