The new and sustainble 'Xplorer' ebike is part of a collaboration between Swiss bike brand Miloo and coffee company Nespresso, aiming to create a powerful and eco-friendly electric mountain bike. The Xplorer features a unique frame and rims made from recycled aluminum, sourced from used Nespresso pods. The bike also uses other recycled materials for its tires, saddle, hand grips, paint, and packaging, making it a model of circular economy and environmental sustainability.
The Xplorer is designed to handle all terrains, from mountains to snow and ice, thanks to its proprietary 1,000W internal hub motor, 1,800Wh battery, dynamic power management system, and torque and cadence sensors. The bike has a top speed of 45km/h, but can be capped at 25km/h to comply with EU regulations. The bike also has a full carbon version, called the Xplorer Beast, which offers the same performance and features as the aluminum one. The Xplorer ebike is expected to launch in Spring 2024, with a price tag that varies based on the selected frame. However, each are expected to retail around roughly $12,000 USD.
