Using high-speed photography and hundreds of layered images of milk being splashed across womens' bodies, the 'Milky Pinups' photo series has a feel of nostalgia attached to it.
Produced by London-based Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz, the images were inspired by popular pinup calendar girls from the 1940s and 50s, which featured girls adorning racy attire and expressions as they modeled popular lifestyle choices of the time. In a modern take, Wieczorkiewicz splashes the women in his shoots with milk to recreate the texture and silkiness of the iconic white dresses of days gone by. While the milk is splashed on in real-time, each photograph, such as one that shows a woman using an ironing board drenched in milk wearing a revealingly short dress, were taken by layering and stitching together hundreds of different photographs after each is taken using high-speed strobes.
