If you have ever wondered what your favorite song looked like visualized, check out the ‘Microsonic Landscapes’ by Realität. These visualizations take the sound waves of any song and turn them into circular plastic models that resemble cityscapes, volcanic craters or vast mountain ranges.
Realität is a Mexico-based experimentation and research studio that came up with this extremely cool music visualization tool. To make these Microsonic Landscapes, three-dimensional open-sourced data visualization programming language processing was used and then printed on a MakerBot. The MakerBot can basically print anything into plastic when correctly programmed.
Realität chose the following songs to use as examples: ‘Another World’ by Antony & The Johnsons, ‘Arvo Part’ by Für Alina, ‘Pink Moon’ by Nick Drake, ‘Third’ by Portishead and ‘Jewels’ by Einstürzende Neubaten.
