When you think of household metalware, you probably think of items that are purely functional and not really glamorous in any way, shape or form. But Danish homeware design brand Georg Jensen is looking to totally change that perception by releasing a new collection of products devised as part of a collaboration with Spain-based designer Patricia Urquiola.
The aptly-named Urkiola metalware collection stands out thanks to its use of designs that are understated yet highly elegant. Some of the highlight pieces of this collection include a candle holder that comprises a number of steel blades, and various kitchen items forged from shiny stainless steel.
This metalware collection speaks to the ability of even the most nondescript household items to please and inspire by virtue of their shape and design, while retaining their basic functions.
