As cars get more and more powerful and advanced, concepts like the Mercedes Hybrid Supercar seem less fanciful. Designer Yicheng Fan of the U.K. has envisioned a futuristic two-door with a transparent hood and seating straight out of a fighter jet. Almost everything about the Mercedes Hybrid Supercar is cutting-edge, save for its gullwing doors. The German car company has been putting those on its products for years.
There's no word on the power plant this concept would pack, but one look at the car and you know it's meant for performance. The front end has massive air intakes to redirect airflow and cool the brakes. The beefy diffuser at back ensures the Mercedes Hybrid Supercar stays planted to the track. Fan's design may seem wild and imaginative but it's actually grounded in reality, sort of. Mercedes is currently developing its own F1-inspired hybrid hypercar with over 1,000 horsepower and a one-of-a-kind look.
