Melting Miniature People

World Wildlife Fund Raises Awareness With Icy Stunt

In order to bring attention to the continuing global warming crisis, and the melting of the polar ice caps, the World Wildlife Fund staged a publicity stunt meant to shock.

Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo created 1,000 miniature people out of ice and placed them in the German capital of Berlin during a sunny 23 degree Celsius day. The miniature ice people slowly melted, similar to the polar caps, throughout the day. Not only did it raise awareness, but the visuals are absolutely stunning.
