Mejuri's new jewelry line is adopting sustainable practices by incorporating renegrated gold material into its manufacturing processes. The new capsule collection aims to reduce the effects of gemstone and gold mining on the environment, contributing to a more sustainable future. Notably, the new collection utilizes Salmon Gold, which is derived from regenerated gold. The Salmon Gold collection utilizes the remains of mine tailings, waste rock, and water to provide consumers with multiple pieces that have reduced impact.
"In this journey to constantly evolve our practices we found that hundreds of thousands of abandoned mines, deemed ‘legacy mines,’ exist around the world. If left untreated, some legacy mines pollute sensitive watersheds, ecosystems, and native species," says Sakkijha.
This new project aligns with Mejuri's goal of becoming 100% traceable and climate-positive by 2030.
