Stijn van Aardenne Designs the Maze Lamp Playing with Shadows

Stijn van Aardenne designed the Maze Lamp, which is a captivating light that is defined by its unique lines and pathways to play with shadow and illumination. It is a 3D-printed structure formed from an industrial 3D printer that lays out the lines across a rotating axis.

What this creates is a cylindrical shape that appears like it is crafted from a spindle of large spaghetti. The plastic material coils around the spinning base foundation and when the nozzle moves forward, sideways, and backward, it creates interesting patterns. Those lines stack on top of one another and it creates a three-dimensional texture over the cylinder. Notably, this means that no two Maze lamps will boast the exact same design.
