Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and Michael Jackson are just some of the people that continue to influence artists and designers alike, and the Material Girl photo series is another clear example of a certain pop icon's timeless inspiration. Modeled after Madonna, the editorial centers on her iconic fashion from the 80s.
Photographed by Andrey Yakovlev, the Material Girl photo series stars model Maria Osinzeva, who happens to look more like Madonna's daughter Lourdes than Madonna. The editorial features art direction and makeup by Lili Aleeva. I like the fact that she took a minimalist approach to the Material Girl series. The black-and-white images give it a great retro finish as well.
The Material Girl shoot also features the work of hair stylist Oxana Zavarzina.
