1964 ‘Pura Onda' Chevy Impala SS

No, this isn’t a tiny bit of flair from the Franklin Mint, this is the recently retired Best. Lowrider. Ever.

How do the owners of this tricked-out automobile justify that claim? 100 Best of Shows entered, 100 Best of Shows won!

Robert Espinoza took his "Pura Onda" 1964 Chevy Impala SS off the show circuit on top. But he didn’t stop, he just added more gold--this time in the form of gold plating on the car.

Almost everything made of metal has been given the gold plate treatment, even the woofer speaker magnets and seat brackets. 90% of the car’s undercarriage is gold-plated. ¡Ay, caramba!
