Mary-Kate Olsen's appearance on the September 2008 cover of Elle UK Magazine helps further fuel the recent media infatuation with twins. After Lisa Marie Presley announced she would be having twins, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's new twins raked in $14 million for charity, you'd think people were sick of twins... but apparently not.
Following the controversy over Mary-Kate Olsen's refusal to divulge any information regarding Heath Ledger's death, the Olsen twin basks in a more flattering lime light on the cover of the fall fashion magazine, as well as dazzles in a multi-page spread. The video above shows a behind-the-scenes look at the fashion shoot.
When Elle UK asked her about her sense of style, the fashionable twin said, "I love playing dress up. I get inspired by old films, weird things. It could just be the person sitting across from me or it could be a full Victorian costume."
That's evident in her photoshoot which actually reflects Mary-Kate Olsen's personal style quite well. She's taken a lot of flack for her peculiar style choices in the past, but she doesn't let the media pressure influence her wardrobe decisions.
"What I find odd though is that a weekly [magazine] will come out describing my outfit as a fashion disaster, while the fashion industry actually respects what I wear."
It's true, which is why her fashion lines she designed with sister Ashley Olsen have done so well.
"I think more of my energy goes in to Elizabeth and James, [The Row is] Ashley's baby," she added in the Elle interview.
