Artsist have been using installations to discuss important issues for quite some time and architect Marcos Zotes' PIXEL CLOUD design is one of the latest, must-see grand scale exhibits to deal with a pressing societal problem.
By constructing this large scaffolding based installation, Marcos Zotes is attempting to deal with "urban scars that remind us of the fragility of our current society." At first glance, the installation is a wondrous structure that sees an otherwise ordinary scaffolding frame being transformed into an intense light show like none other.
But the great thing about Zotes' design is that he's actually created a structure that uses sound and intricate light patterns to represent the fragile economic and social climates of current times.
As the winning entry for the 2013 Reykjavik Winter Lights Festival competition, it goes without saying that the world needs socially conscious exhibits like PIXEL CLOUD.
