The global housing market is expensive, so finding ways to reduce costs (without having to abandon one's tastes) is especially important, and Mami House is a structure that's perfect for the budget conscious. Portuguese architect Jose Carlos Nunes de Oliveira designed Mami House, which is located in the small town of Matosinhos outside of Portugal, to be built for just 100,000 euros, employing inexpensive materials in creative ways to offer a modern look.
By Jose Carlos Nunes de Oliveira's own admission, Mami House is something of a "mini bunker." That said, the cubic concrete structure manipulates popular architectural styles to simultaneously reduce the budget while looking attractive. For instance, the home's concrete is left bare on the interior, which eliminated the cost of a finish and gave the home a Brutalist, industrial appeal.
