The Mameg and Maison Martin Margiela boutiques in Beverly Hills, California are located side-by-side within the same building. Johnston Marklee & Associates was charged with creating two physically distinct spaces that could coexist.
Linked by a corridor of reflected-gold the Mameg boutique and Maison Martin Margiela retail space are quite different. Mameg is homey and inviting while Maison Martin Margiela is a lot more austere and graphic using collage and appliqué to create a trompe l’oeil effect.
