Saigon-based studio Design by Reborn launches two new robot sculptures to join the Lotus Series. The two are named Forgotten Lotus and Lotus Galaxy. Each sculpture is handmade and intricately detailed, with a limited launch of only 30 units that have all been built in the Design by Reborn studio.
The Lotus Galaxy is a bright yellow shade with black speckled details. The Forgotten Lotus sculpture is a cracked gray design and each one measures out to be 2 feet tall. Looking closely, the sculptures have geometric detailing that looks like a puzzle, showcasing merged shapes such as squares, semi circles, rectangles, and more. The shapes are all stacked together in both horizontal and vertical stacks to show a three dimensional texture, held by rare earth magnets together. The studio worked with traditional Vietnamese artisans to reach the cracked lacquer paint technique.
