Designer Sarah Hossli introduces her latest design in the form of the Lotte armchair which is made to assist with age-related impairments safely. The wooden armchair helps those stand up and sit down with ease -- it is supported by the extended armrest that wraps around the backrest. It is also applied as a handrail function for those to assist themselves out of the seated position.
Hossli designed the product after observing those in care homes in previous projects and noticed that many residents required assistance sitting down on their own. This offers a more independent solution, Hossli states that ,"With this armchair, the residents are able to get up more easily and safely because of everyday practice, which then leads to them being more independent and having a better quality of everyday life,"
