The latest work of Taiwanese contemporary sculptor Long-Bin Chen will look at once familiar and unfamiliar. The skillful artist has transformed everyday books into a beautiful sculpture garden. Resembling forms found in manicured nature, such as boulders, tree stumps and a path of stones, people will feel as though they were strolling down the path of a garden or aisle of a library simultaneously.
Long-Bin Chen created the installation for the Library rotunda at the College of Charleston. Melding Eastern and Western elements together, Long-Bin Chen's serene scene brings a bit of the outdoors inside.
Long-Bin Chen's previous work is currently on display at The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, which is also part of the college.
