Local Motors Will Test Its Olli Vehicles in Toronto in the Spring of 2021

Local Motors and The City of Toronto entered into a deal where the Olli autonomous shuttle will be used in a transportation trail, which will take place in the Spring of 2021. The test will run for 6-12 months and it will assess how autonomous vehicles can be used in the city. The test will be conducted in the West Rouge neighborhood, where it will take passengers to the GO train station.

If the test is successful autonomous shuttles from Local Motors could be used in conjunction with the city’s public transportation system. Specifically, autonomous vehicles could connect people to bus or train stops.

The Olli 2.0 is able to fit a maximum of eight passengers, however, two staff members will be present during the trial. One of the staff members will be from Pacific Western Transportation, and the other staff will be from the TTC or Metrolinx.
