Many brands are shifting away from plastic packaging in favor of more sustainable alternatives, which is what's at work with the recent announcement from Llanllyr Source. The Welsh water brand has relaunched its still and sparkling water drinks in aluminum cans instead of plastic to help make the range 100% recyclable. The elegant cans will feature a 330ml serving size and feature branding that's inspired by the brand's glass bottle range.
Explaining the new packaging shift, Llanllyr Source Founder Patrick Gee said, "Consumers are now much more familiar with beverages in cans including cold brew coffees, coconut waters and wine. The re-introduction of cans and the removal of plastic bottles from our range is just the beginning of the next chapter for Llanllyr. The time for change is now and as a brand we need to be more accountable and responsible. We are preparing for re-launch in 2020 and this will mark a significant stepchange for us which will accelerate our aim to become the category leader for the responsible production and distribution of premium spring water products around the world."
