This live art piece by Rachel Knoll pays homage to downloader-rigamortis. In the live art presentation called ‘Wait,’ five people come together in a public space and re-enact the visuals of the Apple computer wait time cursor.
In places ranging from a library to the transit and even a bridge, the participants spin around each other holding up pieces of a colorful wheel. When they move together, they look like Apple's rainbow cursor as it prompts you to wait for your page to load.
According to Knoll’s website, the live art is about "the idea of setting the physical world in a state of idleness while framing the environment as a large computer screen. The wait cursor is associated with malfunction or idleness, which is sometimes followed by a loss of information."
