The Tech-Embedded Listening Table Makes Sense of Conversations

Conceived by the New York Times Research and Development Labs, the Listening Table makes sense of the conversations that take place around it and creates an overview of your meeting. The design concept is equipped with microphones (arranged in the center of the circular table), which are also connected to thermal cameras. This means the table can not only pick up dialogue, but can also determine who contributed what.

Moving beyond simple (and accurate) voice recording, the Listening Table can figure out what the important points were and remove filler parts of the conversation. This allows meeting attendees to later review a high-level summary of the pow-wow, with subjects outlined too.

The straightforward design is streamlined, just like its function. All that is required to record is an on/off switch.
