Interactive art installations allow anybody to create their own artistic manifesto.
Liquid Space 2.1 is an interactive space that uses a software and electronic systems to create a live response when humans interact with it. It was created by Studio Roosegaarde 2.5 and involves human sounds and motions in the creation of living forms of art. Anybody interacting with this new installation creates their own personal art show.
The piece, which consists of a 4 x 4 x 4 meter sculpture integrating "tubes, sensors, LEDs, mechanism, embedded electronics and software," according to the designer's site. It's set to launch at the end of 2008.
This new art installation reminds me of another interactive system, the Kubik architecture setup I saw in Lisbon last summer. The Kubik installation uses big plastic tanks filled with water as a modular structure for creating temporary light shows. The visual artists can use the light electronic system that related these 1,000 liters tanks to create light shows. The light is usually linked with the Dj system and it can use the music beat to create light shows. The tanks are arranged in a different manner in each location. In 2007 there were 3 Kubik locations: Berlin, Barcelona and Lisbon.
