Ruler-Inspired Chronographs

The Linear Clock by Audun Ask Blaker Measures Out Time

The Linear Clock literally measures out time. Inspired by a ruler, this chronograph is simple and straight, just like the measuring tool itself. Although many philosophical individuals may argue that time is circular, many more consider it quite linear. The Linear Clock embraces the latter belief.

The designer, Norwegian University of Science and Technology student Audun Ask Blaker, elaborates: "There is a strange connection between time and space, and I cannot seem to find a sufficient and easy conceptual model of what time really is. I realized that many (including me) think of time in a linear way, just like on a measuring band."

The Linear Clock is scientifically elegant. Using a metric system, it sports 12 hashes to represent the 12 hours in a day and night.
