Interactive Dancing Domes

This Unique Lighting Art Installation for Burning Man Reflects Emotions

Light at Play's Radiance Dome is a lighting art installation that was named this year's winner of the 2014 LuciteLux JUST IMAGINE Awards. The colorful dome was made up of 200 triangular panels of Light Guide Panels lined with LED lights that changed color based on the music and movement of people inside the dome.

The dome was initially created as part of an installation for Burning Man, which is why there was ample room for dancing on its 1200 square foot interior. The installation was used as a space to teach dance, but beyond this, it reflected a shared emotional experience. In addition to all of these neat features of the Radiance Dome, one of the most impressive is that it can be assembled and taken apart on site.
