James Turrell, an American artist who's known for creating light experiences and other exhibits that deal with space, designed the 'Light Reignfall.'
Set up at the LACMA in Los Angeles until the end of May 2017, only one patron at a time can get the unique light experience. Once inside the machine, one is encased in the circular cell structure for 15 minutes. As they lay down, they wear headphones and the entire structure is illuminated with different patterns, working to highlight "the multi-sensory power of light and the complexities of the human eye."
Alla Gadassik, an assistant professor at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, described her light experience by writing "A dim white glow illuminating the entire field of vision turns the dome into a metallic womb, until a saturated blue floods the space to transform it into a small private planetarium or simulated sky. The cell contracts only if one remembers how it appears from the outside, not as it is felt from the inside."Photo Credits: designboom, jamesturrell
