The conceptual 'Lifeline Base Camp' has been designed as a fixed structure for the Mount Everest area to help mountaineers seek refuge when experiencing inclement weather or an emergency.
Winner of the 24h Competition 'Everest' Edition, the structure has a triangular aesthetic that is modular for quick assembly by helicopter transportation. The sloped roof enables snow to melt off the structure as easily as possible after a storm, while the interior section offers climbers a place to rest and recover before heading on up or down the mountain.
The conceptual 'Lifeline Base Camp' has been designed by Jiaqi Wang, Wanzhu Jiang, Pinwen Zhang, and Qiuyu Li, and aims to impact the surrounding environment as little as possible while still offering much-needed support for climbers.
