'BBC Earth: Life in VR' Immerses Viewers in the Californian Coast

BBC Worldwide and Google teamed up to launch a new virtual reality experience for Daydream called 'BBC Earth: Life in VR.'

The experience takes viewers into the heart of the California coast, an underwater world that is filled with vibrant sea life. But beyond just providing a look at some of the incredible creatures—like sea otters, giant squids, great white sharks and sperm whales—that were featured in BBC's Blue Planet, production studio Preloaded describes that the experience is almost documentary-like, as Life in VR has a "strong narrative voice to tell a core story."

In the virtual environment, players will find themselves able to observe some of the natural behaviors and relationships of creatures, as well as the diverse ecosystems in which they thrive. With BBC Earth: Life in VR, users will also be able to shrink themselves down to a microscopic level to view zooplankton.
