If interacting with people isn’t enough for you, you will soon be able to communicate with your home appliance thanks to LG Homechat.
LG Homechat is an instant messaging service that allows you to text instructions to your major home appliances. Owners of a new LG smart washer, drier, air conditioner, fridge or vacuum cleaner will be able to send them directives, when LG Homechat releases in 2014–though that is a tentative release date. By using plain English to communicate with appliances via mobile messaging, Homechat will give owners a way to exert control over their appliances without having to even get up.
Imagine being able to start or stop a load of laundry or changing the temperature of your fridge all while enjoying an episode of Friends.
