Hot Sauce-Covered Cars

The 2017 Lexus Sriracha IS Is a Food-Themed Car with Hot Sauce in the Paint

Though it may seem like the world has reached peak Sriracha, the debut of the 2017 Lexus Sriracha IS proves otherwise. Not only does the car draw inspiration from the spicy Thai sauce, but the condiment is even infused into the exterior paint.

The 2017 Lexus Sriracha IS is the result of a partnership between the Japanese auto-maker and the Huy Fong Foods brand. The idea behind the food-inspired car was to incorporate the ever-popular hot sauce into every aspect of the design process in order to create the 'hottest' vehicle ever. The result is a bright red car that features "flecks of chili-like flakes" on the exterior and a signature strip of green around the front grill. The hot sauce theme also extendeds to the car's interior with a temperature gauge going from cool to 'Sriracha hot' and a Sriracha-like liquid injected into the steering wheel. To top it all off, the trunk of the vehicle is stocked with 43 bottle of the sauce.

While the custom car is not currently for sale, the unexpected culinary mashup demonstrates just how far some are willing to take their hot sauce obsession.
