Celebratory Conceptual Carousels

Lee Broom's Time Machine Shows of Designs from the Studio's Past

In celebration of his studio's tenth anniversary, Lee Broom's Time Machine installation is on display at this year's Milan design week. The exhibit is a carousel that carries design concepts created over the past decade — literally a machine that highlights Broom's time as a designer.

Lee Broom's Time Machine is installed inside Ventura Projects' location at the Centrale Station in Milan. Its uniformly grayscale aesthetic fits nicely with the dank, subterranean concrete dome that surrounds it.

The pieces on the carousel include furniture, lighting, mirrors, and various other accessories designed by Broom. The lights, as well as the light coming from the floor of the carousel itself, work together to offset what might otherwise be an excessively dark underground exhibit.
