FashioningTechology blogger Syuzi referred to Moritz Waldemeyer as "the go-to-guy for the music industry to create magical, illuminated outfits and now—instruments." After browsing through his list of accomplishments and seeing his latest Innovation—the illuminated Gibson Guitar with LEDs and lasers, I will have to amend that description slightly to the ‘glo-to-guy!'
Moritz was commissioned by Fendi and Indie rock band OK Go to create an interactive show for their week-long performances at the 2009 Design Miami International fair earlier this month.
Moritz redesigned the band’s Gibson guitars into furry, glowing instruments that lit up the stage and projected laser graphics on a video wall as the band performed. The lasers emulated the guitar strings and the vibrations transmitted, into a visual interpretation of the sounds.
Click on the Video to watch the spectacular performance of OK Go as they sing ‘WTF’ and play LED decorated Laserfied guitars on stage at Design Miami.
